Trish the Phlebotomist is absoloutly fabulous when it comes to taking Bloods and as someone with a needle phobia this is a big thing for me. She is very caring, personable and skilled with a needle!!, Both times I have not had any bruises which I have had elsewhere, and she has helped me to not feel anxious. Prior to the appointment, I sent the clinic a link to a test I wanted to discuss so the GP could review it in advance. However, he only looked at my blood test results and hadn’t reviewed the test I clearly flagged. I had to waste time pulling it up on my phone during the appointment, which showed a lack of preparation on his part. He suggested I do a calprotectin test through the NHS—something that wasn’t relevant to my symptoms and would’ve only delayed proper investigation. I later went ahead and did the test I originally mentioned, and it turned out to be the right one all along. He did prescribe folic acid and medication for uric acid, but couldn’t identify the root of my gut symptoms or offer any solutions. When I asked him to examine my nose, he refused, saying there wasn’t enough time—despite more than 6 minutes remaining. Instead, he told me to book another appointment, meaning even more unnecessary cost. Overall, the service felt rushed, dismissive, and not even on par with an NHS appointment—let alone a private one. Not worth the money or the time.

Having a private GP appointment does not result in any changes to the care you receive from your NHS GP and we recommend that you remain registered with your local NHS practice to ensure assistance in the event of a medical emergency.
At your appointment, you can talk about any medical condition, in complete confidence. You can have a second opinion if you’ve had a diagnosis you’re not happy with and your notes will not be passed on to your NHS doctor without your permission.
